Stromsburg's
Swedish Midsommar
Festival
(June 18-20) sponsored a 10,000 meter (6.2 miles)
Road
Race and 5,000 meter (3.1 miles) Road Race. Also available
was a
One-Mile Fun Run. The course is level and entirely on
pavement, beginning at the Fire Station, Fourth and Exchange
Streets, one block east of the northeast corner of the town
square, and ending at the same place.
Entry fee of $15.00 if received or postmarked
by
June 9, 2010. The entry fee is
non-refundable.
Late registration, from June 10th to the starting gun, is
$20.00. Early registration is urged to ensure
t-shirt
size availability. The race you register for cannot be
changed the day of the race.
All entrants received a T-Shirt featuring an
original design by local artist Tim Alvis.
A first
and second place medal was awarded to both men and
women,
10K and 5K, in each of these categories: 12 and under,
13-15, 16-18,
19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. Also, the first place
over-all winners, men and women, each received a
trophy. There were medals for first and second place
for men and women in the One-Mile Fun Run and in the
youth division in these categories for each boys
and
girls: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15.
Breakfast Pizza was available after the race along
with other refreshments. Also, many prizes were planned
to be given away at random drawings following the race.
You must be present to win.
Check-in time on Saturday, June 19th was from
7:00
to 7:45 a.m.
$100 Cash
prize or merchandise certificate given to a male and
female
setting new course record in the 5K or 10K.
