City Park Within Walking Distance
Swede Capital Arboretum is located one-half block from the apartments. It is a beautiful, well-kept public park with paved walking paths and hand rails. New trees are planted annually and flower gardens are planted and tended by local volunteers and City employees.
One of approximately 50 in the state, the Arboretum is the site for the annual Arbor Day celebration. Stromsburg has been designated as a Tree City USA for 20 years. The Arboretum also has playground equipment, benches, and picnic tables.
The focal point of the park is a bronze sculpture identifed as "Swedish Pioneers." The sculpture was cast for the city in 1976 by Stromsburg native Dana Westring.
